We offer you a short and spectacular one-day trip in Biržai region. During the trip we will visit the Biržai Region Museum Sėla, where you will taste Biržai gourmet treats and learn about the history of the birth of beer.
In the morning, you will leave for Biržai. You will visit the Biržai Regional Museum Sėla and participate in the educational programme for adults ‘A Biržiečė vaišin dainuodamūs’*. You will learn about the old brewing utensils, the technology of home brewing and the Aukštaičiai feasting traditions. Together with a folklore ensemble promoting the archaic ethno-music identity of the country and feast songs, you will sing, blow skudučiai musical instruments, and dance.
After a fun-filled storytelling and tasting session, you will visit the Astravas Manor ensemble that was once owned by the Counts Tiškevičius, and see the country’s longest pedestrian bridge and dam on the coast.
Later, we will visit the Museum of Antique Technology* at the Sodeliškės Manor Farm. The museum features collections of vintage steam tractors, tractors, buses, trucks, special-purpose machinery, pre-war and Soviet-era cars, motorcycles, and bicycles.
You will crown the trip by visiting Rinkuškiai breweries*, where you will be introduced to modern brewing technology and taste the beers brewed here. Filled with excitement, you will leave for home. You will return home in the evening.
